Renewal of Group MediClaim policy 2023-24
Certain salient features for information of our members.
1. TPA is unchanged, I.e., same TPA will continue for service of Claim settlement as it was last year and
same procedures for cashless and reimbursement claim.
2. There's a change in compulsory family Floater Sum Insured, instead of three, only two Categories.
A. Cat. II up to basic salary 96,139, Compulsory Floater S.A 10 LAC
B. Cat. I from basic 96,140 onwards. Compulsory Floater Sum assured 15 LAC.
3. Sharing of premium- No change
4. 18% GST on total premium paid by the retiree.
a. G.S.T on subsidy premium will be borne by Corporation.
b. PF OPTEE, has to deposit annual premium along with applicable GST.
5. There is increase in premium for all age groups. For younger ages +14.84% and for higher ages +5.84%
6. Shifted GST payment on us, first time, which has increased the premium for all groups, is very much
disappointing.
7. Premium calculation.
You can use the ready reckoner already shared, which is prepared by Shri. C T Joshi ji.
8. There is no change in Room rent.
We have come to know from reliable sources that, three cities are upgraded to A category, namely,
Howrah, Kanpur and Patna, where maximum room rent will be 10,000 if Floater Sum insured is 40 lac or
above, and three cities namely Gorakhpur, Guntur and Ranchi are upgraded to category B. Now
maximum rent can be allowed Rs.6000/-
9.Contrast MRI AND CONTRAST ANGEO CT/CT SCAN are reimbursable for maximum Rs.12,000 and
Rs.9000/- respectively, Diagnostic Tests without Hospitalization.
10. We have given many suggestions like one more option for all left out employees to join the scheme,
reimbursement of OPD TREATMENT, DENTAL TREATMENT, PREVENTIVE HEALTH CHECKUP BENEFITS,
Hospital Cash benefits, increase in Room rent (it should be exclusive one and no charge be combined
with room rent), increase in pre and post hospitalization limit to 60/120 days etc. But none is
considered. We will continue to pursue the same with LIC Management.
