A brief Report of 20th Triennial conference of BMS

The 20th Triennial conference of BMS was held at Patna on 7th, 8th and 9th of April

2023.

07.04.2023-

State wise meetings were held and instructions were given to all delegates about the

modalities of the conference, do’s and don’ts.

The conference started with Dhwajarohan. (Flag hoisting).

The Inaugural session started with singing of Vande Matharam and Adhiveshan Geeth

followed by Deepa Prajwalan.

The inaugural session was presided over by Sri Hiranmay Pandyaji, President, BMS. In

his address he explained three pillars- Rashtra hit, Udyoga hit, Shramika hit on which

BMS works.

Sri Ravindra Himateji, General Secretary, BMS shared the

dais.

Chief guest-Sri Bhagaiah ji, Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh Kendra karyakari

Sadasya and Patron, BMS, inaugurated the conference.

Smt Sita Sahu, Mayor of Patna (BJP) and Sri Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed, Specialist on

Workers Activities, ILO, Southeast Asia, graced the occasion.

Sri Sachin Chandra, President, CII, Bihar, the other guest present, in his address said

that the subjects on which deliberations and discussions that would happen and

decisions that would be taken in this conference will be a guide to the working class of

world at large.

Representatives of INTUC and TUCC unions also spoke.

Later, a special session was held on L20 at G20.

It’s a great pride that the BMS is heading the L20 while the G20 is led by India.

The General Secretary, Sri Ravindra Himateji submitted his report on the activities of

BMS and the same was approved.

The Finance Secretary submitted the Statement of accounts and Balance Sheet.

It was accepted with a minor correction.

Industry wise meetings were held and in the Insurance sector meeting Sri T C Gunesh

Kumar, President and Sri Ashok Joshi, General Secretary represented NOIP and urged

for intervention of BMS in immediate issue of notification of the Revision of Family

Pension and in realising of other long pending demands of NOIP.

08.04.2023-

A special session was held about “Different dimensions of Mahila karya.” Smt Asha

Lakra a BMS activist from Jharkhand and Mayor of Ranchi (BJP), Smt Sita Sahu (BJP)

Mayor Patna and Smt. Pradnya Parande of VV Giri Foundation, were on the dais and

guided the delegates especially the lady delegates.

A grand shobha yatra covering more than 4 kms in the Patna city culminated at Mangal

Talav grounds where a public meeting was held which was presided by Sri Sukhvinder

Singh Dikki, All India Vice President.

In the evening a Cultural program was held where delegates of different states exhibited

their talents.

09.04.2023

In the special session Sri Bhagaiah j spoke at length on BMS 70- Future thrust and

direction.

A Vyavastha Parichay- thanks giving to all responsible for successful conducting of the

conference was held followed by a detailing about Future Programmes of BMS.

2491 delegates attended the conference from all the registered unions and all the

States.

The following resolutions were passed in the conference;

1. Social security for all

2. Amendments to the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970

3. National labour policy should be made in the present context

4. Fixation of Living Wages instead of Minimum Wages

It was announced that the next Triennial conference

will be held in Guwahati in 2026.

Organising Secretary spoke at length about the journey of BMS - (Shoonya se Shikhar

tak) and PAN India activities.

Conference concluded with singing of Vande Mataram and Dhwajaavarohan

On 10th, in the forenoon, we had the meeting of NOIP Patna unit where 7 members

participated and 2 new enrolments were made on the spot.
